FRC team 6856 is a feeder team which was founded in 2017-2018 by students from multiple schools who were unable to create teams due to funding. When Fanshawe heard about this they quickly took interest, bringing all the student from these schools together giving them the opportunity to gain new experiences. During our Rookie year we were able to show off our hard work by winning Rookie All star and Rookie Highest Seed at our first event in Waterloo. We stayed strong all the way to Provincials where we won Rookie Inspiration Award.
Team 6856 goal is to develop technical skills through active learning in an enjoyable way. 6856 seeks to motivate young people to develop an inspiring love for science, technology, mathematics, and engineering. Students also foster the basic lifelong skills that are needed in everyday life. For 6 weeks students work together building a robot while developing an ability to communicate socially.
